On Monday April 11, 2016, Spain@MIT proudly hosted Dr. José Ignacio Pérez Arriaga. This seminar was long waited for and Spain@MIT members were eager to attend. Dr. Pérez Arriaga, or Ignacio as he likes to be called, reflected on his career from being a lover of electromagnetism and teaching his classmates in Comillas University, through his ‘jumping the Pond’ as MS and PhD student in MIT, where he started to get more interested in the electric grid and power systems. Since then he has become a regulator in Spain and Ireland and an advisor for the EU and Central American regional markets implementation. He is nowadays envisioning the utility of the future.
