Last Friday May 29, 2015, Spain@MIT proudly hosted David Suriol and David Yañez, the latter through internet connection from Spain, two of the founders of Vortex Bladeless, a start-up that promises to revolutionise the wind energy sector with their bladeless concept. They explained their technology, a novel system that takes advantage of the Von Karman vortex generated behind a cylinder to make it oscillate and extract energy from the wind, and answered numerous questions from the audience. Moreover, it was also a very good timing for the seminar since the start-up had recently received a lot of attention from prestigious media such as Forbes, Wired, or IFLScience among others.
